I prefer Equipage Geranium to current Equipage. It really is a great fragrance, one of the three 2015 fragrances I have in my collection. Fortunately vintage Equipage can still be had for a very reasonable price, no reason to consider the current version.
Where Equipage (original) is deep, enveloping and warm, Geranium is transparent, light, without body and inconsistent. Personally, I consider it a timeless, refined and tasteful masterpiece. I've saved up a small supply that I think will last me forever. It has a similar character to the classic Equipage, despite some different notes. It is spicy and warm. The rose notes are muted but do give a quietly rich floral note. The mint may make it a bit lighter, but are not as good as the pine needles in the original.Looking forward to trying Equipage Geranium, may be a substitute for vintage Equipage at times. Colin Maillard said it is a good flanker that stays true to the original. Update: I have tried the new Equipage Geranium. Equipage Geranium is in fact, briefly put, a very solid fragrance. It pays all respects to Equipage’s heritage, cleverly reworking its bone structure by giving it a sharper, colder, more floral yet somehow drier shape – shortly, a fresher, more contemporary look.
