The YSL beauty brand is launching an updated batch of the popular Y fragrance for men in Eau de Toilette concentration, for 2022, boosting the longevity and sillage and updating the bottle's design. As a whole, YSL L’Homme suffers from a very weak longevity and projection. After applying the fragrance, you’ll be lucky to experience more than 3 hours of it. In addition, the projection’s sphere is very tight and only really noticeable when up close.
Longevity is ~4 hours and sillage is arm's length, I'd say. It ain't great, but it's good for what it is. My guess is that knowing L'Oreal they've watered it down like they did with LNDH, so my guess is if you want any performance at all, you'll need an older bottle.
I've been using YSL L'Homme since 2010 and till this day, continue to buy. Still smells great and can be used for any occasion, work, date, school, etc. The only flaw about the recent batches is its performance, but I just layer it with Molecule 01 and get over 7 hours. It's like a combination between bitter orange and cognac with woody notes. Despite its strong notes, its sillage is soft (that's up to everyone's taste). The only issue that I have with this fragrance is that I have the feeling that it has a mediocre longevity and that's why I'm writing this post.While Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme may not boast exceptional performance, it certainly holds its own with adequate projection and longevity. Understanding its nuances is key to maximising the fragrance’s endurance throughout the day. Just like the original La Nuit, cardamom is front and center here, but this time with a much leatherier complexion. This fragrance has excellent longevity, is perfect for an evening date, and has mass appeal. - YSL La Nuit De L'Homme L’Intense – 2015. This scent has that smooth and mysterious vibe that comes effortlessly with La Nuit.
